Oh what a waist trainer! Well I wanted to finally try this waist-training thingamabob out. I think I’m about a decade late, however, as the saying goes better late than never. Am I right or am I right? (Definitely being sarcastic sort of 🥴 *insert squiggle face emoji.
So why now?
Well life changes, in my dirty thirties Woot! Woot! For almost a year I’ve been on this strict ass body changing journey. And not so much for photos and compliments. You see, I had four children in a span of 7 years. I did not “blow up” as many may say when hearing those numbers within that timeframe. I did become very uncomfortable with my body. The stretch marks, I wouldn’t even dream of a two piece or a one piece. Shorts…uh nope! Not with all that cellulite. I began to take workouts seriously, October 2020 and now I say again…
So why now March 2021?
As I am getting older, my children are also getting older and my profession (Police Officer) made me realize I needed to stop being content and start being comfortable with being uncomfortable. I repeat, I needed to stop being OK with being comfortable and start loving being uncomfortable. A quote:
“The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.” M. Scott Peck
No I did not have this quote as part of my daily affirmations and I had no idea who Peck was prior to reading his quote, but I hyperlinked his name if you are curious. I’d click the link, pretty interesting guy.
This resonated with me on several different levels and that brought me to now. I also began to love my love marks from bringing my children into this world. Still didn’t care for the cellulite.
Another reason, my friend shoutout to Jess, saw I was in a rut so to speak and really down. She says, “you know what ( didn’t pause for for an answer if you know here you know this) Girls Trip!” I was like “hell yea!” Long story short, she booked an all inclusive trip to Mexico. She’s definitely a GOAT!
Now as I previously stated, in October I took working out very seriously and with that took my body measurements and haven’t looked back. I made my weight goal and run goal. Needless to say, I wanted more change. I saw many different waist trainers on the internet and couldn’t decide which one I wanted to use. Then my phone started listening to my thoughts and these ads started popping up.
At this point I’m like Fuck it! LFG (Let’s Fucking Go). I ordered a Lux Latex Vest Double Belt from She’s Waisted. My goal and intent with this post is to share my why and also my journey and definitely the apparent changes from now until our Mexico Trip 12 weeks!
My Experience with She’s Waisted.
Today is my first day: I purchased a large size this is with me weighing 145 lbs and my waist currently 30 1/2 inches. My goal waist is 26 or 28. Inches. On hour 2 and its slightly uncomfortable. I feel my back and shoulders wanting to slump and slouch in my chair. Like a good partner, my She’s Waisted has my back! Literally!! Snug. I feel the constriction. The material is not irritating to my skin a plus if you are wearing for 8 hours out the day.
My plan is to wear for 8 hours a day if I’m in soft clothes. As a police officer wearing a bullet proof vest on top of this IS NOT HAPPENING. So, generally if I’m not in uniform I’ll wear and also with my workout. If I am in my blues (Uniform) then I will wear off duty and again while working out. Like anything that is new, I know it will be uncomfortable but I am looking forward to leaving my comfort zone and being uncomfortable. Goodbye FUPA OOPA LOOPA DOOPA and whatever other OOPA sounding words and hello to running around with my children in the yard and my future Mexico trip with a nice margarita!
