When I see tire marks

When I see tire marks I think of the guy texting on his phone

The woman with children who won’t make it home

My great grandmother who died as an innocent bystander

The man on the street getting slandered

When I see tire marks I think of defective breaks

The fast and the furious speeding money as a stake

My skin crawls like the forgotten insects on the ground

The day after prom the missing queen never found

When I see tire marks I think of the blood splattered on the wall

The white cross as I drive by the souls lost never getting tall

What do you see when you see tire marks?

Nothing

A blank mind

The days journey from which you embark
